Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s College of Pharmacy is established in the year 2006 and offers Two years full time Diploma Course in Pharmacy i.e. D. Dr. Manohar J. Patil

Principal & Prof. of Pharmacognosy

Dr. Manohar J. Patil is Graduated, Post Graduated in Pharmacognosy and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Science from Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune (SPPU). He has a unique blend of 33 years of professional experience of which 02 years in Industry, Hospital Pharmacy and 31 years in Academics. He is recognized PG Teacher, Ph. D Guide SPPU, Pune and JNTU Hyderabad.
Till Date he has filed 14 Indian Patents (Awardded-11, Published- 03), published 122 research papers in peer reviewed National International journals (Citations- 1986, h index - 27, i10 index - 58) and presented 75 research papers in National International conferences. He is a co-author of one Book and working as a Referee / Reviewer for various CSIR Journals, ECAM (Oxford Journal) and Pharmaceutical Biology (Taylor and Francis). He has guided total 41 students for M. Pharm. and 10 students for Ph. D. from SPPU, Pune & JNTU Hyderabad. His research areas are Phytochemistry, Pharmacological screening of Herbal Drugs (Asthma & Diabetes) and Standardization of Herbal Drugs.
He is instrumental in fetching total Rs. 103.00 Lakhs of Research Grants (AICTE, SPPU, RGSTC) as a Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator. He has also generated the funds of Rs. 327.21 Lakhs from DST, AICTE, New Delhi, SPPU, Pune, under various schemes and through consultancy and services provided to industry and institutes.
He has established active Industry Institute Partnership Cell, Institute Innovation Cell and Signed MOUs with Industries and Research Organizations (25 Nos.). He has worked as a resource person in various Seminars, Workshops and Conferences sponsored by University and centrally funded agencies and participated as a delegate in many National, International conferences. He has organized 31 conferences/ seminars/Workshops up till now at the institute sponsored by various funding agencies. At university level he has worked as a Member – Academic Council (2010-2015), Member, Board of Studies Pharmacognosy (2023-2028, 2018-2023, 2010-2015, 2005-10), Chairman, Board of Studies Pharmacognosy (2010-2015) and Member Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences SPPU, Pune (2010-2015, 2005-2010), Member, Board of Studies Pharmacology, Toxicology, Pharmacognosy and Quality Assurance at Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded and Member, Board of Studies Pharmacognosy, KBC North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon (2018-2023), and Member BOS & IQAC Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pune (2020-2025), Chairman BOS Pharmacognosy Indira College of Pharmacy, Tathwade, Pune. He has also worked as a Member on various Committees, Sub- committees and review committees of SPPU, Pune.
He is an Examiner for B. Pharm, M. Pharm and Evaluator (Referee) for Ph.D. for various universities such as SPPU Pune, KBC North Maharashtra University Jalgaon, Shivaji University Kolhapur, Mumbai University, Mumbai, Bharti Vidyapeeth Pune, Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University Nanded, Manipal University Manipal, KLE University Belgaum, Rajiv Gandhi Health University Bangalore etc.
He is a past President, Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Pune Branch (2020-2022) and worked as a Co-chairman Registration committee for 54th IPC, Pune. LOC Co-ordinator and Chairman, Accommodation Committee, APTICON 2014. IPA Pune Branch Representative- State Division Chapter for Pharma Education. Co-ordinator APTI (National) and Editor APTI Newsletter Maharashtra Branch.
